Holding Steady

It’s funny when the Portrait Mode on my iPhone makes part of my glasses disappear.

This morning, the scale held steady. I’m okay with this as I ate a pretty big dinner of four pork baby back ribs, some sweet potato (baked and salted) and some strawberry relish left over from dinner the day before. I also had an apple.

What’s more impressive, though, is that the size of my waist shrunk noticeably. My trousers felt a lot more comfortable today. I still have a full 12 lbs or so to go, but along with that 12 lbs should also be a 1-2″ loss in my waist which will make all my trousers fit perfectly. Right now, there are still some in my closet I won’t wear because they are a bit snug.

I’m pretty sure I’d have lost some weight last night if I had gotten my 7+ hours of sleep. Since I stayed up to watch the Rams/Raiders game (which went well past midnight), morning came early and I didn’t get the sleep I normally try to get. I’ll make up for that tonight (hopefully).

I’m still sticking to a very strict Paleo diet, and it’s yielding the results I am expecting. I’m not allowing myself to stray, I’m watching my portions, and I’m trying to make sure I get enough sleep. The only area I’m lacking in right now is exercise. Due to all the wet weather we’ve been having, I’ve not been running. “Do indoor exercise!” Yes, I should, but I don’t. I do push ups, but that’s about it. I should really start hitting those kettlebells. They look at me every day and say, “Why don’t you love us?” Maybe I’ll actually listen and give them a swing or three.
